Werner Bischof: In the Court of the Meiji Temple, Tokyo, Japan (59.559.4) | Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History | The Metropolitan Museum of Art

by sbrothier
An early member of the Magnum photo agency (he was admitted in 1949), Bischof worked mostly in Asia. His early training in applied art and graphic design imbued him with a keen formal eye, which was consistently in evidence as he worked to document newsworthy events and experiences. Here he has captured the delicate furor of a heavy snowstorm while photographing monastic life at the Meiji temple in Tokyo.

Wallpaper* Magazine | Sex Issue: Type Tart Cards |

by jerome & 1 other
Tart cards are the means by which many London prostitutes advertise their services. Step into almost any central London phone box and you can contemplate up to 80 cards inviting you to be tied, teased, spanked or massaged. Even if a police crackdown, the internet and the increasing use of mobile phones suggest their days are numbered, tart cards are still so pervasive they are now regarded as items of accidental art and have something of a cult following. Once on the periphery of design, tart cards have influenced the work of many mainstream artists such as Royal Academician Tom Phillips and Sex Pistols designer Ray and Nils Stevenson.

PRINT GOCCO discount SUPPLIES

by sbrothier & 1 other
The PG5 is the "new and improved" version of the older B6. The lamp housing is easier to handle and the positioning frame for screens offers a more secure fit, preventing screens from bending or slipping. It is also slightly more compact and decidedly more colorful!

Award winning music video, commercial and film director Tarsem Singh (The Cell) creates a moving and seamless blending of mundane life in a 1915 Los Angeles hospital with a visually sumptuous fantasy world of exotic bandits, evil tyrants, dream-like palaces and breathtaking landscapes...

Zen Bound from Secret Exit

by sbrothier & 2 others
A calm and meditative game of wrapping rope around wooden sculptures. Something to be enjoyed at a slow pace: a game where a high score is not the goal. Zen Bound is designed to challenge in a subtle way, it does not attack or force the player.

one take impromptu film made in Tokyo by Dennis Wheatley and Stefan McClean. We were sitting in this sushi bar pondering how best to set up a camera to film things all by itself whilst we were in Tokyo. Take our hands out of the equation... let the camera have its own journey. I'd taken a cannibalised record turntable with me from the UK with the idea of filming slow panoramas but it was painfully bumpy and stopped every minute. Then we had our eureka moment and filmed this. A few years later I was working on a piece of music and married the two together. The music is all about that feeling when you're half asleep in the sun.. the ambiance of foreign voices becomes a lullaby to dream away.

Wafu tiramisu | Clea Cuisine

by sbrothier
