PrestaShop annonce la sortie de la première version stable de son logiciel de commerce électronique opensource. L’éditeur français lance également une offre de services et de formation autour de son logiciel libre. Fondé par deux passionnés de l’Internet, Igor Schlumberger et Bruno Lévêque, PrestaShop livre, après deux ans de R&D et une douzaine de versions beta, la version 1.0 de sa solution e-commerce : un logiciel de boutique en ligne prêt à l’usage et optimisé pour ce qu’il est désormais convenu d’appeler le "Web Deux". Le logiciel permet de gérer des fonctionnalités telles que les réductions de prix, les chèques cadeaux, les frais de port offerts, le "cross-selling", les prix dégressifs et la possibilité de pouvoir autoriser les commandes d’articles en rupture de stock. Dans leur outil Back office, les boutiques en ligne gèrent un nombre illimité de produits, de devises, de paramétrages des taxes, de frais de port... et de langues. Selon Bruno Lévêque, directeur associé de PrestaShop, "on compte actuellement plus de 25 000 téléchargements par mois. (...) Comme d’autres logiciels e-commerce open source, tel qu’osCommerce, PrestaShop est gratuit. Sa licence (OSL 3.0) est l’une des moins contraignantes. Et les utilisateurs n’ont même pas à s’enregistrer préalablement sur son site." Logiciel libre dit... services. PrestaShop fournit donc des prestations de formation, d’adaptation, de personnalisation et d’accompagnement à la solution e-commerce.
